Dr. Cecilia Lund
Dr. Cecilia Lund is a consultant Geriatrician at Copenhagen University Hospital, Herlev and Gentofte and Assistant Research Professor at the University og Copenhagen, Denmark. Her primary research focus is on geriatric co-management during oncological treatment, focusing on the complex interplay between multimorbidity, cognitive impairment, physical performance.
As the Principal Investigator of the randomized control trial (RCT) “GERICO,” Dr. Lund demonstrated that comprehensive geriatric intervention — can improve chemotherapy completion rates in patients with colorectal cancer. This study led to integrated geriatric care into oncology at her hospital. Currently, Dr. Lund supervises six PhD projects in geriatric oncology and serves as the local coordinator for several Danish geriatric oncology multicenter studies.
Dr. Lund also focus on other critical areas of geriatric oncology, including falls and dizziness—a prevalent yet often underreported issue among older chemotherapy patients. The ongoing RCT SaVe, investigates whether personalized exercise and geriatric interventions can prevent dizziness, walking impairments, and improve quality of life during chemotherapy.
